Re: On the firing of a “tenured UC professor”

The University of California Board of Regents dismissed a professor from the Riverside campus named Rob Latham after his student issued a formal complaint alleging him of sexually harassing that student with the comment “ride you hard,” and distributing drugs to other students.

If a heterosexual man had made the exact same statement, no lewd implication would ever have been inferred.

-Rob Latham

The University of California Board of Regents dismissed a gay professor from the Riverside campus named Rob Latham.

One of his students issued a formal complaint alleging him of sexually harassing that student with the comment “ride you hard,” as well as distributing drugs to other students.

The Hearing Committee dismissed the original charges of “flagrant, serial sexual harassment,” and instead charged him for his recurring “psychological illness.”

Why legalize marijuana in the U.S.? So that the U.S. government can profit from the millions of people who wanna get high.

It doesn’t matter how marijuana positively and negatively affects people’s lives. It doesn’t matter how marijuana is becoming more socially-acceptable. And your perspective on marijuana doesn’t matter.

The U.S. government could care less about what happens to us. They just want to profit from the lifelong billion-dollar business.

And ya know what? I wouldn’t be surprised if some of our law makers and enforcers smoke the joint as well.

Rosé’s voice sounds like it’s getting progressively worse.

I was surprised to hear BLACKPINK’s Rosé sing “Eyes, Nose, Lips” by BIGBANG’s TaeYang, her label-mate… because of how unstable and off-tune her voice sounded.

Minzy’s decision to leave YG Entertainment was good for her overall, and is influential. (…) CL either left YG recently or is gonna leave the company soon.

One of the reasons why 2NE1 disbanded is because Minzy – the girl group’s main dancer, lead vocalist, and youngest member – decided to leave YG Entertainment during her group’s ridiculously long, two-year hiatus.

Since YG singers, producers, song writers, etc. work under the strict restrictions of their “company” – which is run by brothers Yang Hyun-suk and Yang Min-suk (both of whom I’ll refer to as the “company” throughout this post) – they seldom see their ideas and dreams realized.

That’s why Minzy left YG, and why CL has either left the company or is most likely leaving the company soon. 2NE1’s members didn’t just suffer from their final group hiatus; they became tired of wishing for group and solo activities to happen (since everything from song and TV appearances have to be checked and approved by their bosses), and annoyed by the lack of support from their company whenever they were criticized (about their appearance, skills, behaviors, and thoughts).

I don’t like cosplaying as a hobby.

While I was preparing for my Japanese studies as an incoming middle schooler, … I discovered cosplaying and a plethora of other Japanese stuff like anime, manga, gyaru (girl) style, visual kei style, …………

Anime and manga fans who cosplay – dress up as their favorite characters – were such “eye-candies” to me as a kid. The homemade or “professionally-made” costumes they wore were much more colorful, detailed, and unique compared to the Halloween costumes you’d see at your local party stores.

But soon after discovering the hobby, I realized that cosplaying is far from glamorous.

Re: Abolish ICE? Please don’t.

The Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency was established 15 years ago in response to the 9/11 attacks.

People want to abolish ICE because of Trump’s immigration policies.

Before the U.S. had a Department of Homeland Security (DHS), immigration was managed by the Department of Commerce first, and then the Department of Labor next.

Quick Thoughts: Media Literacy Should Be Taught To Children (and Parents)

Kids (and, surprisingly, babies) nowadays have their hands on smartphones, tablets, computers, and/or gaming systems with social media sharing. They’re exposed to much more information than I ever was when I was a kid! (I’m a post-millennial, by the way.)
